To the woman I’ve become (Poetry Series)

I was lost,

When you found me,

trapped in the surgery room,

It had been 12 hours,

since they had started.

I was lost,

when you found me,

in front of my whole school,

exposing my scars,

breaking the taboo,

that I was more than just cancer.

I am lost,

yet you find me,

as I try to go through adulthood,

you’re there in my heartbreaks,

in my failures and successes.

To the woman I’ve become,

cheers I say to you today,

I am proud of who I am,

Female, strong, fierce, and great.

P.S: This is just a draft, and I’ve recently started experimenting with poetry.
