Tender (Poetry Series)

Tender soul,

Tender heart,

Not so tender anymore.

Tender mind,

Tender skin,

Not so tender anymore.

Broken soul,

Icy heart,

Not so lovely anymore.

Clouded mind,

Scarred skin,

Not so dumb anymore.

Note: I wrote this poem recently, but it is meant to express the feelings during my fight with cancer. Even though now I have a much more optimistic view on life, I didn’t want to change the words of the poem, or ameliorate the situation, since that was what I felt at that time.
